Japan is one step ahead of the world in terms of technology – the claim has been proven once again.
Japan made the world’s first 6G device, as recently reported. The speed of this device will beat even 5G. The Japanese companies have made it claim that this 6G network can transfer data 20 times faster than 5G.
The global race for next-generation wireless networks intensifies. This development poses a crucial challenge worldwide, prompting a revaluation of its 6G strategy to address both international competition and domestic requirements.
Who took the initiative of making?
The four telecommunications companies in Japan behind this 6G device are – Docomo, NTT Corporation, NEC Corporation and Fujitsu. Together, these four organizations started a project in 2021 – the purpose of which was to make the world’s first 6G device.
Through research and planning, that 6G device has finally become a reality today. This breakthrough technology will open doors to a multitude of possibilities, enabling data transfer rates that could facilitate the streaming of multiple high-definition movies simultaneously.
Japan’s claim about 6G devices
This wireless device capable of reaching unprecedented data transfer speeds of 100 Gbps apparently 500 times faster than 5G at its peak. The tests have achieved ultra high speed 100 Gbps transmission over a distance of 100 meters in the 100 GHz to 300 GHz band, the companies said. But there is a challenge in getting it to market that Japan has already started working on.
The frequency frontier challenge
The main difference between 5G and 6G is the frequency range of the electromagnetic spectrum. High speed can be obtained only when it is operated in high band. 5G transmissions currently operate in the millimetre wave band (6 GHz-40 GHz).
Researchers in Japan have achieved a significant milestone in 6G technology by developing a wireless device capable of reaching data transfer speeds of 100 Gbps over a distance of 328 feet.

And to successfully achieve 6G speeds, it must operate in the sub-terahertz band, which starts at 100 GHz and goes up to 300 GHz. Which is not yet made that way. Besides, the companies said that the device that will support this speed has to be made from the beginning.
Responsibilities of four organizations
Four organizations have been tasked with implementing these wireless 6G devices. Docomo’s work is to test wireless systems and develop equipment for 100 GHz telecommunications applications.
NTT Corporation is tasked with developing high-end wireless devices at 300 GHz. The device has reached 100 Gbps speed with the contribution of this company. NEC Corporation was commissioned to manufacture the antenna. And Fujitsu will supply semiconductor chips.
Hopefully, this Japanese plan will reach to the common people very soon. And the much awaited high speed 6G service will also be launched in worldwide with the help of that plan.
