After comparing Apple’s recently introduced Vision Pro with Meta’s Quest 3 headset, CEO Mark Zuckerberg of Meta concluded on Wednesday that Meta’s offering was superior.
Zuckerberg originally observed that Meta’s headgear was “seven times less expensive” than Apple’s $3,500 Vision Pro in a video that was recorded using the Quest 3 headset and shared on Instagram.
When the Meta Quest 3 was released in October last year, it cost $499.99. After utilizing Vision Pro, I don’t believe Quest offers a better deal. In my opinion, Quest is the superior product overall, stated Zuckerberg. “Honestly, considering the price difference, I’m pretty surprised that Quest is so much better for the vast majority of uses for these headsets.”
In comparison to Apple’s headset, he said Quest had a larger field of view, clearer images, and was 120 grams lighter on the user’s face. While acknowledging that Apple’s headset screen featured a greater resolution, Zuckerberg commented on the “trade-offs” Apple made in terms of the device’s overall quality.
The CEO of Meta wasted no time in pointing out that, in contrast to the Vision Pro, Quest supported YouTube and had a bigger library of games.
