Once again, Beyoncé made history by becoming the first Black woman to reach the top of Billboard’s country music chart.
The Grammy Award winner accomplished the feat this week when her new track “Texas Hold ‘Em” topped the country radio list.
Along with her second single, “16 Carriages,” which debuted at No. 9 on the same chart, she released the song on February 11 during the Super Bowl.
It is anticipated that both tracks will be on Beyoncé’s forthcoming album with a country theme, dubbed “Act II,” which drops on March 29. It’s a sequel to her album “Renaissance,” released in 2022 and sometimes referred to as “Act I: Renaissance.”
Following the airing of a Verizon ad featuring Beyoncé during this month’s Super Bowl, the singer revealed the release date of her new album.
According to Billboard, Beyoncé is also the first female to have hit the top of both the Hot Country Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts since they were launched in 1958. The only other performers to surpass both are Ray Charles, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Justin Bieber.
