On the third and last day of voting in Russia’s presidential election, a flurry of Ukrainian drones attacked the country.
Russia’s Ministry of Defence announced on Sunday that Ukraine had fired 36 drones over Russia throughout the course of the night, with the goal of hitting many locations around the nation, including Moscow.
Russian air defence forces intercepted and destroyed several drones over Moscow, Yaroslavl, Kursk, Belgorod, Kaluga, Rostov, Oryol, Bryansk, and Krasnodar Krai, as per Ministry of Defence and local authorities.

According to Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of Belgorod, a 16-year-old girl was murdered by shelling in the city that borders Ukraine. Gladkov shared the news on Telegram. After their house caught fire, her father was hurt, suffering from burns, carbon monoxide poisoning, and a brain injury.
Attacks by Ukraine on Belgorod have intensified, causing authorities to close stores and schools.
According to Vladimir Rogov, a member of the Russian-installed Zaporizhzhia administration, two Ukrainian drones also targeted a voting centre on Sunday in the Zaporizhzhia area of Ukraine that is under Russian control. There were no confirmed casualties.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Air Force reports that on Sunday, after Russia launched the drones during the night, Ukrainian forces shot down 14 of them over the Odesa area. A twin Russian missile assault on the city of Odesa on Friday resulted in the deaths of at least 20 persons.
The almost inevitable winner of a fifth term in office, Vladimir Putin, has declared that border incursions in Ukraine “will not remain unpunished.”
Voting in 11 time zones and 88 federal subjects began on Friday and will continue through Sunday, including parts of occupied Ukraine that Russia illegally annexed after its invasion over two years ago.
