UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron announced on Thursday that his country had decided to ban the entry of settlers involved in violence against Palestinians in the West Bank.
Cameron wrote in a post Via the X platform: “By targeting and killing Palestinian civilians, extremist settlers undermine security and stability for both Israelis and Palestinians. Israel must take stronger measures to stop settler violence and hold its perpetrators accountable.”
He added, according to ‘Russia Today’: “We prevent those responsible for settler violence from entering the United Kingdom to ensure that our country cannot be a home to people who commit these acts of terror.”
It is noteworthy that French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna announced a week ago that Paris is considering imposing its sanctions on parties involved in acts of violence in illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
UK is on the same line as Belgium
Last week, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo announced that his government would prevent extremist settlers living in the West Bank from entering Belgian territory, indicating that his country would work with the United States to impose sanctions on people involved in actions that undermine peace, security, and stability in the West Bank.
US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, confirmed the start of implementing a new policy towards those involved in committing acts of violence in the West Bank, explaining that the policy of restricting visas will be implemented for individuals who are believed to be involved in undermining peace, security, or stability in the West Bank, including by committing Acts of violence, or other actions that unjustifiably restrict civilians’ access to basic services and necessities.
“Immediate family members may also be subject to these restrictions,” he noted.
Most notably, the latest tweet on David Cameron’s Twitter is: ”
” The UK and Saudi Arabia are important partners, committed to working together on shared priorities. I met with Faisalbin Farhanin London today to discuss the ongoing conflict in Israel and Gaza, regional stability, and wider global issues. The UK welcomes Saudi Arabia’s support for UN Security Council resolutions denouncing Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine.”
