Queen Rania of Jordan spoke up in an interview on CNN with Christiane Amanpour on 24 October, in which she condemned the brutal attack on Gaza and expressed her solidarity with Palestine.
She expressed her grief about what happening in Gaza and she refused any assault on Civilians.
She explained that the Middle East is disappointed and shocked about the world’s reaction towards this catastrophe.
“We can’t believe the images we are seeing every single day coming out of Gaza,” she said.
Queen Rania said: “The people all around the Middle East, including in Jordan, are just shocked and disappointed by the world’s reaction to this catastrophe that is unfolding. In the last couple of weeks, we have seen a glaring double standard in the world.”
she denounced the World’s reactions as she touted it as “a glaring double-standard”.
She articulated that since the Hamas attack, the world stood with Israel and condemned the 7th attack as they acknowledged the right of Israel to defend itself.
“ I have never seen a Western official, say the sentence: Palestinians have the right to defend themselves.” She spoke.
she added that whenever Israel commits these atrocities it comes under the banner of self-defense, but when there is violence by Palestinians, it’s immediately called terrorism.
“We are seeing silence in the world, countries stopped expressing concern or acknowledging casualties.” she deplored the world’s stance towards what’s happening in Gaza.
She added: “This the first time in modern history that there is such human suffering and the world is not calling for a ceasefire.”
she asked: “Why isn’t there an equal condemnation for what happened now? “
she stressed that the conflict didn’t begin on 7th October but, war hasn’t left for Palestinians as it’s a 75-year-old story of death and displacement.
She said, “committing daily documented crimes against the Palestinians are missing from the narrative.”
Earlier, Queen Rania had posted on Instagram an old video back to 2009 reminding people about how Palestinians are suffering, and she commented that the scene hasn’t changed yet.
Most Notably, Queen Rania origins came from Palestine , she was born for Palestinian parents.
