Today, the Human Rights Commission launched an expanded campaign entitled “Under 18,” coinciding with International Children’s Day, which is celebrated globally on November 20 of each year, in the context of the Commission’s efforts to spread a culture of human rights in various fields related to human rights.
The campaign comes within the Authority’s efforts to enhance awareness of human rights and spread culture to all segments of society, as it included a number of media, digital and spatial paths through the establishment of a number of pavilions and informational corners at the Roshan Front, King Fahd Medical City, and the Prince Sultan bin Abdul-Aziz Center for Supportive Services for Special Education and the Insan Association, where the special wing of the Insan Association for Orphan Care, which will be held in cooperation with the association on Thursday, will include expanded activities directed to children.
Through the campaign’s paths, the Authority aims to draw attention among all segments towards children’s rights and the importance of caring for and preserving them, highlighting the importance of providing a safe and healthy environment for children, warning of the potential dangers to which they may be exposed, and directing parents and educators about protecting children and preserving their rights to have a safe family and upbringing. The campaign aims to encourage community participation and motivate various sectors to devote a day for children with parents to spread awareness by achieving an effective experience that combines engaging the child in skills and sending meaningful messages to children and parents that stress the importance of their rights and protection, and ensuring that they receive appropriate education and content.
The campaign slogan, “Under 18,” symbolizes important messages that include: (a life free of physical violence, a society free of psychological harm, a life free of harassment, a stage free of financial exploitation, a life free of discrimination, and content free of offensive expressions).
The Authority seeks, through various channels and paths, to enhance awareness of the importance of protecting children, improving their quality of life, and building a promising future for them, by launching and developing various specialized initiatives that enhance the aspects of definition, education, and awareness.
