On Saturday morning, trucks carrying medical supplies and medicines began crossing into the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing in Egypt.
The trucks headed to the Gaza Strip, while hundreds of other trucks loaded with food and medical aid were waiting in front of the crossing, preparing to cross.
It is reported that 20 trucks were allowed to pass through the crossing.
The World Health Organization stated that supplies only meet a small portion of needs in Gaza.
WHO called on keeping the process of conveying the supplies from Rafah gate is very essential as sustainable and unceasing supplies are needed urgently.
The organization stated that it is working with the Egyptian and Palestinian Red Crescent organizations to ensure the safe convoy of these vital supplies and their delivery to hospitals and health facilities.
It also called for the protection of humanitarian personnel in the Gaza Strip, while working to ensure that aid is delivered to those who need it most.
Meanwhile, Israel has apologized for bombing one of the Egyptian sites on the border mistakenly on Sunday.
It has been reported that Israel has hit near the border in the Karm Abu Salem area.
The blast caused injuring at least seven people including several Egyptian border guards, according to the militaries of both countries.
Avichay Adraee, an Israeli army spokesman, offered Israel’s apologies about the incident and stated that blast will be investigated.
This blast would not hinder the flow of convoying the aids according to Egyptian media.
Most notably, the second convoy of aids has just returned from the gate few hours earlier, just before the accidentally Israel shelling on the Egyptian border.
Back to the aid convoys, its recommended that 100 trucks are supposed to enter the crossing daily in order to meet the needs of Gaza people, according to UN officials.
The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) articulated in a statement that humanitarian aid from the United Nations containing only water, food, and medical equipment was brought into the southern Gaza Strip, through the Rafah crossing in Egypt.
7 trucks carrying humanitarian aid crossed the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza on Sunday shortly after 2pm as the border crossing opened for the second time in as many days, according to Al-Qahera News channel.
The border Rafah crossing was opened urgently to deliver urgent humanitarian aid to 2.3 million Palestinians who are in besieged Gaza without food ,water and fuel for two weeks.
