The US delegation will visit Delhi, India this week to discuss bilateral issues, energy cooperation and possible dates of the Quad meeting in which US leaders will participate in Australia, Japan and India.
They also hope to strengthen their relationship despite “breakup” rumors in recent months.
According to the report, US Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu, in addition to attending the US-India Forum organized by research organization Ananta Center, also plans to go to Delhi to participate in the talks.
A broad range of topics are anticipated to be covered at the talks, such as advancing Indo-Pacific cooperation, tackling global challenges, and fortifying bilateral topics
Possible agendas for the meet
The discussions are expected to encompass a wide spectrum of issues. Other officials expected to attend the private meeting, which will not be open or announced to the public, include US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti, Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Deputy Secretary of State for Energy Resources Jeffrey Piatt, Pentagon.
White House Department of Homeland Security staff and representatives dealing with climate change and India. The conference is planned to be held between January 27-29 on the Indian side. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister Vinay Kwatra and Defense Chief Secretary Anil Chauhan are expected to deliver speeches.
The first meeting is planned to be held this weekend, January 27.
