The Saudi Music Authority announced on Thursday that Riyadh was selected to host the “Music Cities Conference and Awards” for next year 2024, after competing with several international cities. Saudi Arabia won to host the Music Cities Awards in 2024, an annual global competition that honors outstanding applications of music for economic, social, environmental, and cultural development.
It will take place from Nov. 14 to 16 next year at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, the Saudi Music Commission said. The Saudi Music Commission posted on X: “The Saudi Music Commission is hosting the Music Cities Convention & Awards 2024 for the first time in Riyadh to elevate the music sector in the Kingdom and enable local talents to showcase to local, regional, and international audiences.”
They emphasized that the conference would include activities and events that enrich the music sector, multiple topics across music fields, a platform to connect the global participants, An exhibition on Saudi culture and music and a program that targets music entrepreneurs and performers. About 100 music experts are expected to attend the event. on Thursday. Moreover, the Saudi Center for Music will host a six-week, intensive music-education program. The Conference reflects the Ministry of Culture’s efforts to boost international cultural exchanges. It comes in line with the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 plan to develop and diversify the Kingdom’s economy.
“Riyadh, Saudi Arabia will be the host of a global festival of music cities in November 2024, with both the Music Cities Convention & Music Cities Awards to be hosted in the city and attended by 1,000 high-level regional & international delegates.” According to the official website of Music Cities events.
