Riyadh succeeded in capturing the world’s attention and winning the organization of the Expo 2030 international exhibition after the end of the electronic voting process for the participating countries, on Tuesday evening in Paris, and after competition from the Korean city of Busan.
Immediately after the announcement that the city of Riyadh had won the honor of organizing Expo 2030, fireworks covered the sky of the capital, specifically from the King Abdullah Financial Center.
Riyadh’s victory in organizing “Expo 2030” is the culmination of the Kingdom’s ambitious 2030 vision led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and a demonstration of the world’s confidence in Saudi Arabia’s ability to organize this important international event.
It is worth noting that the French capital, Paris, hosted the vote on Tuesday evening, with the participation of 170 countries whose votes determined the host city for Expo 2030.

The announcement by the Bureau International des Expositions in Paris, today (Tuesday), of the Kingdom’s sweeping victory in hosting the “Expo 2030” exhibition in Riyadh, was not surprising but rather met expectations completely. The reasons for this are due to the strength of the Kingdom’s file, which it presented under the slogan “The Era of Change: Together We Shape the Future”, which is based on three basic axes: “Prosperity for All,” “Climate Action,” and “A Better Tomorrow”, the elements of which included the issues dominating the issue. Why did Riyadh win?
The Kingdom’s victory in hosting Expo 2030 is also due to the intensity of international support for the Kingdom, and its success in mobilizing a large number of countries to vote for it, as the Kingdom received 119 votes compared to 29 votes for the South Korean city of Busan, and 17 for the Italian city of Rome, which in the end indicates… The Saudi capital won two-thirds of the 165 votes of countries that have the right to vote.

Riyadh is gearing up for the event

His Highness’s participation in the Kingdom’s official nomination ceremony reflected the interest, support, and follow-up given by the Kingdom’s leadership to the Kingdom’s hosting of this global event.
Riyadh is also working to prepare for this event, in accordance with the directives of the Crown Prince, by developing six metro lines covering the city and linking to the Expo site and the airport, in addition to working to raise the capacity of King Salman International Airport to 150 million passengers by 2030.
On the other hand, the Kingdom is committed, on the sidelines of the exhibition, to provide a wide-ranging facilities package worth $348 million to a group of 100 eligible countries.
Expo Riyadh will be held in an area of six million square meters, five minutes away from King Khalid International Airport, and the design will be like a futuristic city, around an ancient valley, reflecting the Kingdom’s vision of pioneering a sustainable future for cities.
