Real Madrid celebrated their 36th La Liga title in style beating Alaves by 5-0 at home on Tuesday night.
As Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr put on an attacking clinic as Los Blancos pieced together. Bellingham scored once and assisted twice, while Vinicius bagged a clinical brace, as the newly-crowned La Liga champions set an ominous tone for Borussia Dortmund ahead of the final on June 1.
Match highlights and goals
It only took Jude Bellingham ten minutes to put Los Blancos 1-0 up, before Vinicius Jr doubled the lead. After Vini Jr had made it 2-0 on the score board, Real Madrid were starting to strut their stuff and a wonderful effort from Valverde made it clear that there would be no way back for Alaves, even though they have been in great form coming into this one. The score was 3-0 just before the break when Federico Valverde scored.
He was played in on the right and hit a powerful effort into the top corner, giving the goalkeeper no chance.
The second half started quietly but Vini Jr eventually got his second goal and Real Madrid’s fourth, Vini Jr has had a wonderful season and he kept that up by scoring the fourth goal to keep the fans entertained, before young Arda Guler got on the end of a loose ball and fired a good finish into the bottom corner with less than 10 minutes to play by making at 5-0, perhaps showing Carlo Ancelotti why he should be in the plans for next season.
Player of the match
Jude Bellingham won the honour of the player of the match. After his promising start to the game, he has been some way off his gleaming best in recent months. This evening he looked back to his brilliant form, leading the game with six key passes including two assists. This performance is a good for the final in Wembley and the Euros shortly thereafter.
The win leaves Real Madrid a huge 17 points ahead of Barcelona in second, who still have a game in hand to play. As for Alaves, their hopes of a top half finish take a hit but are not over yet.
