The Intellectual competency of the university regulators after a week of in-campus antisemitism encampments has upheld inquiries to address growing violence against Jewish students
Columbia University became an anti-Jewish hotspot after students in huge congregation decried Israel’s bombardment on Gaza – which has displaced 75 percent of Palestinian population, induced humanitarian crisis and killed around 33,000, according to Gaza health officials. The cry was outlashed with violent demonstrations as students rallied on university campus with slogans expressing profanities against Jewish students.
Paramilitary forces have been deployed on the educational institution to decompress volcanic outbreaks led by students demanding a complete divestment from Israel. The agitations came in the backdrop of Netanyahu’s galvanizing efforts to destroy Hamas rebellion in Gaza which has led to a mounting civilian causalities.
This is not the first time that a religious conflict has entered an intellectual property hosting inside a student body. In October last year, Claudine Gay the former first black president of Harvard University was ousted from her presidentship amid roaring backlash over her lack of accountability in controlling the obstreperous antisemitism gigs within the university premises.
The precarious week-long demonstrations in Columbia University has awakened international authorities to call for investigation against the President – Nemat Minouche Shafik who on Monday said classes would be held virtually and school leaders would be coming together to discuss a way to bring an end to this crisis – a key indicator of how serious the situation is.
Columbia University President’s incompetency questioned
President Nemat Minouche Shafik, on Thursday transited an official letter to New York Police Department requesting its help to break the encampments where students have settled camps on campus to express their solidarity with Gaza. Consequentially, 117 students were apprehended for their deliberate attempt to sabotage normal commune of university business.
On Wednesday, the Columbia university president was grilled at a congressional hearing addressing the urge in antisemitism sentiments under her administrative command. Rep. Elise Stefanik pronounced an uncompromising verdict, holding Shafik accountable for the continuous rampage of protestors in the university premises and her inability to protect Jewish students, calling out for her immediate resignation.

Pro-Palestinian protests ahead of the recurring Israel’s human right violations in Gaza has erupted in various corners of the world but most significantly in United States where universities have become a vulnerable hellhole for demonstrators to run their personal propaganda targeting students. These repeated acts of atrocities cemented upon communal differences has alerted organizations nationwide to intervene and construct a safe educational environment.
