One of the leading universities in the world Harvard University, which is rich in talent, has become a hotbed of slogans for an independent Palestine. Last but not least, behind the statue of John Harvard, after whom the university is named, where it is custom and rule to place the American national flag, the protesters took down the flag. Instead, the Palestinian flag flew there. The incident made lot of noise in the western world.
What happened at the university?
The video of Saturday’s incident is already viral on social media The video shows protesters raising the American flag from behind a statue of John Harvard and raising the Palestinian flag, chanting ‘Free, Free Palestine’ and ‘From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will Be Free’.
Harvard University spokesman Jonathan L. reacted strongly to the incident. Stated “This is a crime that violates the university’s policy,” Jonathan said, adding that strict action would be taken against all students and staff who participated in the protest.
Harvard has REPLACED the American flag with the Palestinian flag.

Not only at Harvard University, the wave of demonstrations against Israeli aggression in Gaza, Palestine, has spread from Columbia University in New York to Northeastern University in Boston, Washington University in Saint Louis, Arizona State University and Indiana University.
As protests continued across college and university campuses, the US government said Sunday that police arrested about 275 people on four separate campuses over the weekend in pro-Palestinian protests. Efforts are underway to keep the situation peaceful.
Protest at other universities
Protests have taken place in at least 24 other universities across the United States. Besides, some high schools also protested.
Last Monday, some protesters immediately pulled up tents on New York University’s Manhattan campus. Police arrested 120 people from there. Four of them have been charged with trespassing.
108 people were arrested at Emerson University in Boston on Thursday morning. As a result, the university had to cancel classes. Four police officers were injured during the protest.
At Yale University in Connecticut, 48 people were arrested on Wednesday, but there are still protests there. All but four of those arrested are students at Yale University.
Seattle high school students walked out of classrooms Tuesday to protest the war. Meanwhile, high school students in New Jersey organized a walkout on Friday. New Jersey school authorities have issued strict warnings for students not to attend.
At Emory University on Thursday morning in Atlanta, some protesters came to the Emory University campus and sat down in tents. They are not affiliated with the university. Authorities say the outsiders were later joined by members of the university community. Some protesters were taken into police custody when they refused to leave. The university authorities did not clarify the number of those detained and what kind of trial they will face.
