India lost the World Cup. No second thoughts about it. Indians now are more mature than ever before. I remember the 2007 Cricket World Cup, where India was out of the equation in the league stage, itself. The amount of security that Sachin Tendulkar required back home to stay safe, raised a lot of questions about the loyalty of the fans.
A few pictures emerged out of the blue that showed, a sense of responsibility. The Indian cricket fans have, right now.

The crowd cheering for Rohit and Team India, after the loss, was a quite emotional moment. Rohit had tears in his eyes, crowd knew the Indian skipper needs their moral support. People knew they have to support their team at their worst. The Indian crowd is very patient with their approach to the game. Rohit has earned his respect in the team and within the cricketing fraternity with scoring more than 400 runs in this World Cup in the first 10 overs only. No one in the history of cricket have achieved this feat ever before.
PM Modi in the Dressing Room
What happened here, is not just consolation. The beauty of this picture is, union of two different strength. The minority and the majority. Either religious or politically. Cricket as a sport is a religion in India. One thing cricket does well enough is to unite every individual under roof cheering only one name. “INDIA, INDIA, INDIAAAA, INDIA.” The appreciation of the Prime Minister at a loss, in a moment of grief, is vital to uplift the spirit of the team.
The chain of thought also reflects that its not over yet. Well, it’s over for some of the players in the dressing. As the skipper age is 36. He won’t be able to play the next world cup. But, there’s always a possibility of a magic happening. Rohit Sharma with his game sense can take India forward in the right direction and set a example for the next generation.
As a cricketing nation, there’s hope alive. That we will win the world cup and all the ICC events. The dream will come true. But, there’s a little more wait.
