The Republicans of the House of Representatives, on February 6th, moved impeachment against the secretary of United States Homeland Security – Alejandro Mayorkas. Failing to meet the required vote-count, the attempt failed.
On February 13th, the House of Republicans moved another impeachment against the secretary. The total House vote settled to 214 – 216 votes; rejoicing the Republicans for the majority was met. The impeachment of the Department secretary made him the first cabinet secretary to be charged of misconduct.
Serving as a secretary of Department of Homeland Security under Biden administration has been politically objectionable by many. The reason for the relentless demonstrations of dissatisfaction by the Republicans lies in the loopholes and infractions which went unadministered by the incumbent President, underlining his lack of accountability.

In his letter to Chuck Schumer, Mike Johnson elucidates the expeditious route one should take to present this matter as urgently as possible. This particular showdown will be a high profile one as the country folks gear themselves for this years Presidential election.
Many have declared the outcome of the showdown as an inevitable victory for the Democratic-controlled Senate, trivializing the Republicans everlasting effort to impeach Mayorkas.
