Earlier, The Pentagon announced that US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin is undergoing treatment for prostate cancer after he faced criticism for delaying several days before informing the White House of his hospitalization.
In detail, the Pentagon said that Austin’s “prostate cancer was discovered early and his diagnosis was excellent,” but he later had to be readmitted to the intensive care unit due to “complications,” including feeling nausea and severe pain in the abdomen, hip, and leg.
The Walter Trade National Military Medical Center in the United States said that US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin (70 years old) underwent surgery on December 22 after an examination revealed that he had prostate cancer, according to Sky News Arabia.
Doctors said that his recent secret admission to the hospital was for surgery and later to treat a urinary tract infection related to this operation.
Austin became infected a week later, and senior administration and defense officials were not informed for several days about his hospitalization or cancer.
