The Barcelona team delegation arrived late yesterday evening, Tuesday, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, in preparation for competing in the Spanish Super Cup, which is hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Spanish club published, through its official account on the (X) platform, a video clip of the arrival of the first football team’s delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and commented on it: “This is Riyadh… Thank you for the warm welcome and hospitality.”
The Kingdom will host the Spanish Super Cup for the fourth time, during the period from January 10 to 14, 2024, with the participation of four clubs; They are: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, in addition to Atletico Osasuna.
The “Awal Park” stadium in Riyadh will host the tournament’s matches, which will be held in a knockout system. In the first confrontation, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will meet on Wednesday evening, with Barcelona, the “defending champion of the previous edition,” facing Atletico Osasuna tomorrow, Thursday, and the two winners will qualify for the final match that will be held next Sunday evening.
This is the fourth edition hosted by the Kingdom, after the first edition in the year 2020 in Jeddah, where Real Madrid was crowned champion, Riyadh hosted the second edition of the tournament, in which Real Madrid was also crowned in 2022, while Barcelona was able to achieve the third edition at the beginning of this year, 2023.
