The American company Google announced the launch of a new update to its meetings application, “Google Meet,” which adds a set of “more realistic” features.
It appears from Google’s official statement that gestures that allow you, for example, to raise your hand, have become “more realistic.”
Gesture detection works as long as the camera is on and your hand is clearly visible in the shot, and Google recommends keeping it away from your face and body.
Google reassures active speakers that the app will deactivate gesture detection any time the speaker is active, and will only turn it back on when the participant becomes silent again.
Although administrators don’t have any control over this feature, you can turn it off at any time by going to More Options, then clicking Interactions and Raise Hand Gesture.
Gesture detection should be rolled out to the quick-release domains in the next few days.
The scheduled release ranges will be rolled out gradually over 15 days, starting on November 28.
