David Renne, a prominent name in the fashion industry died on Friday, due to a heart attack in Milan, Italy. His death was confirmed by Aeffe.
Renne’s significane in Fashion World
Renne headed the women’s wear department in Gucci. He worked at Gucci for nearly 2 decades. His work was an impression of fearlessness. He took great inspiration from Franco Moschino. In his recent post (16 October), he posted a quote, “Good taste doesn’t exist. It is our taste. We have to be proud of it.”
David wasn’t just a mere fashion designer. He was a creative genius, not just creating designer clothes, but crafting an art form. His design is loved across generations. He created clothes that were a perfect blend of traditional and avant-garde (experimental clothes). Katy Perry wore his creation on multiple red carpets.
Renne’s Personal Life
Renne upbringing played a pivotal role in his design. His passion for art was sparked during his formative years, he carried that enthusiasm throughout his life. Renne’s inclination towards fashion began in 1996. He studied fashion and costume design at Università degli Studi di Firenze from 1996 to 1999. After graduation, he worked at various places as a creative director. In 2004, Renne joined Gucci. Over the years, with a passion for creative artform, he climbed the ladder of success in Gucci and eventually rose to the rank of Head designer in Women’s wear.

Fashion enthusiasts all over the world, mourned the loss of David. Fans took it Renne Instagram last post, to offer their condolences.
The chairman of Aeffe Spa said, “There are no words to describe the pain we are experiencing at this dramatic time. Davide joined us only a few days ago, when a sudden illness took him from us too soon. We still can’t believe what happened. With Davide, we were working on an ambitious project, in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and optimism for the future. Even though he was only with us for a very short time, Davide was able to immediately make himself loved and respected. Today we are left with the responsibility of carrying on what his imagination and creativity had only envisioned. Our deepest sympathies go to his family and friends.”
Renne’s mark is beyond fashion
His work transcends beyond his creation. His dedication towards fashion was matched by his commitment towards philanthropy. He created a lot of scholarships and mentorship program for a new wave of fashion designers.
