The end is near for Eddie and Venom.
Sony Pictures Entertainment on Wednesday unveiled the trailer for Venom 3 for the upcoming movie, which is being called “Venom: The Last Dance.” As the name indicates, it will be the final entry in the movie trilogy. Venom 3 will be released in theaters on October 25, 2024.
What was in the trailer of Venom: The Last Dance?
In “Venom: The Last Dance”, Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy, reads the synopsis. “Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.”

The trailer shows Eddie and Venom on the run from dangers posed by both their worlds.
“Eddie, my home has found us,” Venom says.
Venom is an alien symbiote who takes hold of Eddie’s body, and they’ve gone from forming an uneasy alliance to becoming a duo.
“We might not make it out of this alive, buddy,” Eddie tells Venom.
In the trailer, we can also see clashes between Eddie, a military organisation, and meteors which carry other symbiotes similar to Venom. While the events show destruction of the world at a cataclysmic level, the film will also not shy away from showing the humour between Eddie and Venom, as can be seen in one of the first scenes where they both fail to sync up their introduction to some gangsters before biting their heads off.
Is spider-man going to be in the film?
While it was clear from the start that Venom: The Last Dance would take place directly after the ending to Spider-Man: No Way Home, the sequel may have just messed with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4. The footage shows the piece of the symbiote being left behind on Earth-616 getting captured by Ejiofor’s character, meaning that there is no way for the black suit storyline to get explored in Spider-Man 4. Although it does seemingly confirm that whoever Ejiofor is playing in Venom: The Last Dance has found a way to travel between worlds.
A surprise addition to Venom: The Last Dance is the introduction of Rhys Ifans, who played Dr. Curt Connors, a.k.a. The Lizard, in The Amazing Spider-Man universe, as he can be seen briefly in the trailer. Whether or not he is playing a healed Curt or a completely new character remains to be seen, but this is definitely intriguing, especially after Spider-Man: No Way Home. With the first look for Venom: The Last Dance finally unveiled to the world, time will tell what else Sony Pictures will reveal about the film as it gets closer to its theatrical release this fall.
Director, producer and star casts of the film
Venom: The Last Dance stars Tom Hardy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach and Stephen Graham.
The Last Dance marks the feature directorial debut of Kelly Marcel, who wrote screenplays for the first two films. The third installment will once again feature the Mad Max: Fury Road star in his dual role as Eddie Brock and the titular symbiote.

Tom Hardy’s statement about the film
Hardy had a conversation with Forbes Magazine earlier where he talked about the new film and what audiences can expect. He mentioned the Deadpool films and how they were able to find success despite an R-Rating, while the previous Venom movies, despite being successful, were restricted in their creative freedom due to the PG-13 rating.
He said this time It might be different, stating, “By the third one, we’ve been given so much creative support to do – to push it. It’s a much wider piece and there’s much more love – not that there was not love in the last ones. We’ve been allowed to put more of our ideas into it and I’m really excited to see how they land.”
The previous two venom films were very successful, with the first grossing around $856 million worldwide and the second grossing around $506. It then begs the question, whether breaking the standards, with new creative decisions and an adult rating, will improve their numbers or work against them.
