All five occupants of the tiny airplane, including a minor, perished after it crashed into a forested area close to Virginia’s western border on Sunday and caught fire, according to police.
It was informed by the Federal Aviation Administration that the twin-engine IAI Astra 1125 crashed close to Ingalls Field Airport in Hot Springs, Virginia, at around 3 p.m.
As of right now, the airplane looks to have contained four people and one child. A press release acquired by local outlet WSLS stated that “all five, including the pilot, died at the scene.” Corinne Geller, a spokesman for the Virginia State Police, made this statement.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have said that they will look into the event.
State police described the aircraft as “a small, private plane.”
“To verify the plane’s trajectory as well as recognize the people living there, the state’s police are working together alongside the FAA and NTSB.”, the crash debate is still going on as of right now.
About 160 miles northwest of Richmond, hot springs are located close to the Virginia–West Virginia border.
A request has been made for more information from the coroner with the Department of Health for the Western District of Virginia, the state police, and Ingalls Field Airport.
